COMING SOON: BUFFALO & RYE SET TO HIT BIRMINGHAM’S GROWING RESTAURANT SCENE
Set to rock our world when it opens in late October, new Americana bar and diner, Buffalo & Rye will combine the best in American comfort dining with the added bonus of having a focus on bourbon whiskeys.
From the Bitters ‘n Twisted team that runs the successful Victoria and Island Bar, amongst other well known venues, the city centre venue will specialise in deep-south inspired bbq food, burgers, home smoked pulled pork as well as American style pancake all-day brunches together with a huge range of whiskeys.
With a Bennetts Hill location, next to sister venue Bodega and billing itself as a “Bourbon Diner inspired by America, made for Birmingham”, Buffalo & Rye will be unique to the city with a stripped back urban feel.
The new intimate bar and diner, seating up to 50 people, will feature a range of rye whiskeys and the very best in dirty burgers, gourmet hotdogs and smoked pitt meats, including ribs and beef brisket.
Commenting on the launch, Bitters ‘n Twisted founder and director Matt Scriven said: “We’re very excited about the launch of Buffalo & Rye, which you could describe as a Bourbon diner. Our ethos is all about bringing something different, whilst making it right for the city. We don’t believe in a ‘one size fits all’ approach and we make sure that our ideas are right for our customers.
“This is not tacky Americana, nor are we spending a million pounds trying to impress people, but we aim to create a laid back US vibe with that Bitters ‘n Twisted edge. Customers can expect American style pancakes with warm maple syrup and crisp fried bacon for (all day) brunch, an express lunch of gourmet sandwiches (smoked chicken, pastrami on rye) and street food style burgers, hotdogs and ribs for dinner. All of this will be underpinned by a great range of drinks, specialising in rye whiskeys and cocktails.”
